Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, Tamar Zodelava, is participating in the thematic sessions and discussions held as part of the 16th Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM).
During the session, Georgia expressed its support for the further advancement of the Framework for Effective Land Administration (FELA), as well as for the establishment of the Hub for Effective Land Administration. The proposed Hub aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices among countries while strengthening land administration systems worldwide.
Building on its extensive experience and recognized expertise in land administration and geospatial information management, Georgia also expressed its readiness to join the United Nations Expert Group on Land Administration and Management (EG-LAM). The newly established Expert Group contributes to shaping global land administration policies, key approaches, and development priorities.
Georgia's participation in the Expert Group will create new opportunities for the country's practical experience and technical expertise to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to the development of the post-2030 global agenda.
Georgia's participation in the 16th Session of UN-GGIM once again demonstrates the country's growing role in international land administration and geospatial information management initiatives. It also reinforces Georgia's commitment to sharing its expertise with the international community and to further strengthening global cooperation in these fields.
