Within the framework of a working visit to the United States of America, Tamar Zodelava, Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia, together with representatives of the National Agency of Public Registry, participated in the World Bank conference.
Discussions at the event were focused on land and property research issues.
As part of the visit, the Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia and Elene Grigolia, World Bank-funded Project Manager, met with Dorcas Wagima Okalany, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development of the Republic of Uganda.
The meeting focused on Georgia’s experience in systematic land registration. The representative of the National Agency of Public Registry, Elene Grigolia presented to the Ugandan delegation the key aspects of systematic and sporadic land registration, as well as the field digital application connecting surveyors and registrars in real-time.
“The Georgian experience is contributing to the improvement of the land management system in the Republic of Uganda. We remain committed to sharing further expertise with our colleagues, particularly in the areas of digital services and smart contract,”- stated Tamar Zodelava.
The Ugandan delegation expressed its appreciation to the Georgian counterpart for its continued support and emphasized that Georgia’s experience is regarded as one of the best practices in terms of the efficiency and accessibility of public services.
