The National Agency of Public Registry under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia presented the ongoing report on the reform at the summary event held as part of the National Spatial Infrastructure Week.

At the event, the Minister of Justice of Georgia, Paata Salia, spoke about the significance of the reform and outlined future visions for the development components of the NSDI.

The Chairman of the National Agency of Public Registry, Davit Devidze, presented the first multifunctional geoportal (NSDI.GOV.GE) created by the NAPR.

On the geoportal, spatial data producers upload and make the spatial data existing in Georgia publicly available. Through this platform, citizens and organizations can access and download authentic data from all producers for any spatial object in the country.

During NSDI Week, the National Agency of Public Registry held working meetings with international experts.

Within the framework of the meetings, representatives of the NAPR, together with professors from KU Leuven, discussed the development of various components of the reform and shared international best practices. With the involvement of foreign colleagues, the NSDI will be made compatible with EU standards.

Subject to the Law of Georgia on the National Spatial Data Infrastructure, the National Agency of Public Registry under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia was designated as the NSDI Coordinator and, among other functions, was tasked with establishing the National Metadata Catalogue.

The National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) is a coordinated system aimed at the effective management and easy sharing of standardized, valid, and up-to-date spatial data created by public authorities (subjects) for many users through a common access point - the National Geoportal.
