The expert group met with David Devidze, Chairman of the National Agency of Public Registry, along with his deputies and department representatives involved in building the NSDI.
During the meeting, NAPR highlighted key achievements in NSDI development, including the launch of Georgia’s first multifunctional geoportal – NSDI.GOV.GE.
As part of the visit, the international experts presented an evaluation of NAPR’s activities and discussed its strategic plans through 2026.
The parties also emphasized an important issue: ensuring the national geoportal’s compatibility with the EU Spatial Data Infrastructure (INSPIRE Directive).
The expert group introduced a draft NSDI business model built on principles of openness and the Open Data concept. The model aims to provide free access for all interested stakeholders to state-produced spatial data.
Throughout the week, NAPR will hold working sessions with international NSDI experts, including Danny Vandenbroucke (University of Leuven) and Glenn Vancauwenberghe, who are advising on the NSDI business model, data-sharing strategy and licensing framework.
